RACENATION LAUNCH REVOLUTIONARY FREE EVENT DAY APP WITH LIVE UPDATES, ENTRANT TRACKING AND INTEGRATED FUNDRAISING
October, Brighton, UK: The country’s leading and most innovative race entry platform has announced a revolutionary event day app that will allow event participants and spectators to manage, interact and organise like never before. Over 1,400 events including the SuperHero series, as seen on Channel 4 and the Muscular Dystrophy series will benefit from downloads and donations.
Event days come with stressful situations. Arriving and registering can be a painful process of running around, finding the bag drop or nearest toilet. A common problem on course is having your friends and family along for support, waiting eagerly, only to find out you had missed each other.
The free RaceNation event day app will come as standard to organisers using RaceNation services and will feature interactive course maps, reliably built through Google Maps with live tracking for spectators to view the progress of friends and family. An in-built messaging service will mean you can send good luck messages or notify them of your position, with the messages then playing through headphones, taking away the need for participants to get out their phone.
Interactive event village maps show increased information for every situation, including bag drops, transport links, shops and charity tents, making the process stress free.
Event organisers are able to manage the platform from their mobile, removing the need for complex backend programming and making the process of live interaction and updates possible and simple. As the app is free with any event registered through RaceNation, it means events of any size have access to the technology.
Integrating charity fundraising has been fundamental to RaceNation’s recent successes. Participants and spectators will now also be able to use the app to donate straight to charity pages in just a few clicks. By aligning with the RaceNation fundraising arm, SportsGiving, it means anyone with the app can donate straight to their worthy cause without wasting time or large commission fees with third party fundraising platforms.
There are also multiple added safety advances. Event organisers and doctors know exactly where participants are on the course and will have direct access to up to date medical records, modernising the traditional requirement of filling out the back of the race bib.
Will Golder, Director of RaceNation and former TeamGB Bobsleigh driver said, “With a rapidly growing list of events, we pride ourselves on using the latest technology to make the event day experience better for everyone. Never before has anyone focussed on connecting through an App the hundreds of thousands of participants to their spectators and charities that make these events so inspirational. By introducing the app, we hope to not only make the event day more inclusive, stress free and safer for any size event, but also increase on the millions of pounds raised for charity through Sports Giving.”
