KPMG has sponsored the Guernsey Chamber of Commerce lunch, focusing on efforts to position the Channel Islands as sustainability leaders.

In a significant move towards environmental stewardship, KPMG has sponsored the Guernsey Chamber of Commerce lunch, emphasising the importance of how collaborative efforts can position the Channel Islands as sustainability leaders and enhance their credibility as excellent business destinations.

The event brought together key figures from the Channel Islands to discuss the transition to Net Zero and the role of businesses in this crucial journey.

David Postlethwaite, KPMG’s ESG Associate Director, opened the event, setting the tone for a session dedicated to sustainable practices and corporate responsibility. Michelle Ryan of the Jersey Association of Sustainability Practitioners (JASP) provided a comprehensive overview of Jersey’s efforts to achieve Net Zero, sharing valuable insights and best practices. Her talk highlighted the need for a unified approach, community involvement, and innovation in tackling climate change.

The audience actively discussed Jersey’s climate strategy, exploring its merits and pitfalls, highlighting lessons Guernsey can learn from the island’s journey and areas where collaboration is possible, identifying opportunities for mutual support and shared goals.
