Meet MyAnova, a tech start-up focused on driving positive change in employee wellbeing, DEI, and engagement.
For the past three years, MyAnova has been a proud member of Digital Jersey, using their innovative platform to provide data-driven insights that foster inclusivity and growth in workplaces. In this month’s Member Spotlight, we catch up with Jenny Winspear, to learn more about MyAnova’s journey, their impact on workplace culture, and the exciting projects they have coming up.
Tell us a little bit about yourself and your role
I am Jenny Winspear and I am the Co-Founder and COO of MyAnova, a tech start-up for employee wellbeing, DEI, and engagement. I am a registered occupational psychologist and previous HR practitioner, and I co-host the Work in Real Life podcast. I love surfing and golf… so if you ever need female representation on a corporate golf day, let me know!
For anyone who doesn’t know, what does MyAnova do?
We do pay gap reporting, engagement surveys, and wellbeing measurement with data driven action plans, as well as consultancy in all of those areas. The platform delivers unparalleled insights into workplace wellbeing and DEI through evidence-based surveys. We excel in offering clear and practical recommendations and provide a safe and anonymous space for authentic employee feedback. By holding up a mirror to organisations, we expose the true sentiments of their diverse communities, fostering inclusivity, growth and positive change.
What do you like most about being a member?
The support and advice of the DJ Team has been invaluable when building a digital business. They are always eager to help and seek our input on their initiatives. The community that DJ has brought together has meant I have never felt alone in my endeavours, and we make use of their free event space and meeting rooms (which come as perks of being a member). Our team has attended many of their training sessions and DJ also trialled one of the first versions of our platform to provide invaluable feedback for us at an early stage.
What exciting projects have you/your team been working on recently? Have you got anything coming up you can talk about?
So many exciting things! We are about to release our first big case study video which has been so much fun creating with one of our clients. We have recently launched our 360-feedback module in the platform and have onboarding and exit surveys in the works. Finally, perhaps our most exciting focus recently has been connecting with the local community about pay gap reporting so that we can develop a platform to remove some of the barriers to reporting gender pay gap. It’s no secret that Jersey, like many places, faces a talent shortage and a proven way to boost productivity and attract top talent is by investing in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives. Pay gap reporting is just the start, stay tuned for the release!
What has been a significant highlight for MyAnova so far?
A significant highlight for us (and continues to be) is our partnership with global, publicly listed professional services company JTC Group. We helped JTC achieve an 89% response rate in their annual global survey and they have been brilliant to work with, supporting us on our journey as we support them on their growth trajectory.
We were also thrilled to win the Creative Award at the Digital Jersey Tech Awards for our groundbreaking “Black Mirror of Workplace Wellbeing” presentation, developed in collaboration with The Potting Shed. This AI-driven, dystopian exploration of employee wellbeing was the first of its kind locally, we’re excited to continue pushing the boundaries of technology and creativity in workplace innovation.
How would you describe MyAnova’s workplace culture and what does the team do together outside of work?
Fun, flexible, and not afraid to take risks. With our parent company Marbral Advisory, we take part in social events, including charitable activities such as the South Coast Challenge.
What emerging technology are you most excited about exploring or incorporating into your services in the near future?
I get excited by every new technology trend but the question of whether our clients are asking for it is another thing. More recently, we have explored gamification, AI, and predictive analytics. AI has had such a revolutionary impact on the tech industry that I have no doubt it will be in our models in future, but for now we are just testing and learning the right ways to integrate it.
If MyAnova could collaborate with anyone/any business, who would it be and why?
In all honesty, we just love working with forward thinking companies whose values align with ours. Our platform is built to scale so the next aspirational step is that first 10,001+ headcount business!
What advice would you give to someone wanting to kick start their career in technology?
Be open to learning always. You will almost never be an expert in technology because it so rapidly evolves, so having a hunger to learn, seek information, and stay curious is key to this industry.
